TERMITES
Termites are small insects which live in or on wood and feed on it. Their shape and size resemble that of ants. Termites are social insects and form huge colonies consisting of the queen, reproductive, worker and soldier casts. They can cause huge damage to wooden structure and objects. Termite inspection and control require knowledge, experience and special technical means.
WOODWORMS
By the term Woodworms we mean larvae of various insects, mostly Coleoptera (beetles) and Lepidoptera ( butterflies ) which invade and eat wooden items. When the larvae of these wood-boring insects emerge into adulthood, they will leave. Woodworms can invade tree trunks, stored timber, structural wooden items, wooden furniture and floors. Woodworms are controlled by using appropriate chemical substances and spraying, fumigation or anti-woodworm varnish applications.
